Valcucine have revolutionised the furniture industry by producing the first kitchen base unit using 100% recyclable glass. The product has just been launched following a lengthy research process into sustainability, space-saving and of course, uber sleek aesthetics. 

The glass base units eliminate the traditional second side panel -  whereas traditional kitchens tend to install base units side-by-side, resulting in double side panels in chipboard that can reach a thickness of 36mm. Instead, Valcucine has developed the kitchen carcass horizontally using a single glass carcass side that is only 10mm thick, giving the arrangement a clean and lightweight appearance, whilst the overall decreased volumes help lessen wasted resources and energy. Additionally, the exclusive use of glass guarantees full recyclability of the unit, eliminating toxic emissions, as well as absolute resistance to water, steam and heat.

Not that this is a kitchen you'd chuck out quickly, but Valcucine have also considered the disposal of their new product too; the entire new glass base units' system is easy to dismantle because it is connected using mechanical joints only, and no glues. The separation of the materials of the base unit is made easier thanks to the use of single materials.
