Batman & Robin are pendant luminaires from Zmink, a design office based in Basel who focus on identity in design and the transformation of abstract concepts into three dimensional messages. This lighting design from them adopts the persona of superheroes, co-dependent on each other for impact.

With a shade folded from of a single piece of alu composite (using the core of the sandwich material as a hinge) the reflecting surface provides a balanced and atmospheric light whilst the the edges of the shade glow due to the translucent core material.

Batman emits a wide ray of light; Robin a narrow light cone. Although these are two seperate light fittings, they belong together, representing the relationship between a hero and his sidekick.
