Cartesia is a new piece of furniture created by Motobayashi Furniture and Nosigner, and we must say, we're impressed by the clever draw mechanism they've developed which makes it especially suitable for placing in corners or awkward spots where space is at a premium.
'Cartesia' stands for the "Cartesian coordinate system" that is translated into a structure of drawers that can be opened in two directions.
It's certainly a break from the norm and the beehive style piece (an inverted trapezium, related to a rationally based design that implies handles) has a rather impressive sculptural form when all closed up too.

Its nice to see the minimal use of wood and the slanted sides negating the need for drawer handles. I may be missing something, an I like drawers opening both ways, but I can\'t see why it claim to be specially suitable for where space is a premium.
