With an impressive heritage that stretches back to 1643, Maison de Cire Trudon are France's oldest wax manufacturers - and probably it's most prestigious - being officially appointed to the French Royal Court in 1713.
The firm continues to this day making scented candles with a wide variety of intoxicating smells, a process that incorporates meticulously selected natural oils bound to a secret recipe of vegetal wax.
As you'd expect from a company that supplied candles to the Court of Versailles, the packaging is something you’ll never want to part with - the wax is poured into heavyweight, handblown ivy green glass jars and each has a luxurious embossed gold label.
If you're in Paris, then you'll find their beautiful store at 78 Rue de Seine; the perfect location for a little last minute gift shopping.
