PAPERCUTS

Lisette Koren is an artist living and working in Utrecht, Holland with more than one string to her bow; variously working with paint, paper and also producing illustrations.

But it's her paper work that particularly caught our eye here at M.E. Creating textured, undulating pattern through the layering of shape, line and colour, Koren composes hypnotic landscapes that play with perspective. Some pieces 'roll' like ploughed fields, while others appear as a birds eye view of urban structures.

At once straight, regimented uninterrupted lines and with a little shift of position, a kinetic entity, Koren's work confronts the viewer with the power of multiple viewpoints and ultimately; perception.
