Spanish design agency CuldeSac have adoped two different traditional furniture production techniques to create a new collection of stools and tables.
For 'Welding Wood', CuldeSac have used lathe joined wood and steam bentwood.
Where two pieces connect, the section of the wood increases. Following this, the wood is then curved to achieve the structure and functionality; so the lathe work is no longer used just as an aesthetic provider, but it works more as a functionality provider, in itself generating its own aesthetic.
The result is a simple but attractive series with a robust character which we like very much; essentially these pieces are the charm of the traditional seen with contemporary eyes.
