One of the projects Italian research team Fabrica showed at this year's Salone was a group of decorative objects called 'The Riot Act'.
Displayed in the new talent hotbed that is the Salone Satellite, this collection of 12 decorative articles is based around one starting point - a ceramic cylinder.
The collection takes its name from the 1713 Act of the British Parliament which gave local authorities the right to order the dispersal of groups of 12 or more people deemed unlawfully assembled.
Assembling (lawfully, we might add) an international dozen of Fabrica designers, each ceramic cylinder was transformed in form and function through modifications, processes or additions of new elements.
Participants were:
Isabel Abreu (PT), Sam Baron (FR), Philip Bone (UK), Dean Brown (UK), Elliott Burford (AUS), Catarina Carreiras (PT), Valentina Carretta (IT), Marta Celso (IT), Yukihiro Kaneuchi (JAP), Myriam Maguire (CAN), Gustavo Millon (CILE), Jaeun Park (KOR).
