These accordian-style lights and seats are the work of Myungseo Kang which we spotted at the ICFF event this year.

The pieces are part of a range called 'Octagonal Series', based on a pleated octagonal shape.

Through a study of origami, Kang found octagonal origami to be flexible, strong and presented infinite possibilities for interior objects.

We particularly like the 'Closer' seat which encourages better communication through its flexible pleated shape. Depending on where you wish to use it, this small bench can be extended or shortened as needed.

Plus, both the pleated leather part and the blank space inside the seating box can be used as storage.
