DESIGN PARADE

Here's a sneek peek at just a few of the works which will be on show at Villa Noailles in Hyeres, France next month as part of 'Design Parade'.

The exhibition is open to the public from July the 7th until September the 26th, and is the fifth edition of Design Parade at Charles and Marie-Laure de Noailles' Modernist villa.

This year, the theme questions modernism and its temporality: the speed with which young designers emerge and the assurance that time brings to those who are willing to take theirs.

The line up includes four shows with objects by Aldo Bakker, Naoto Fukasawa, Antoine Boudin and Sébastien Cordoléani.

We love the graphic aesthetic of Fukasawa's new Metro vase inspired by earthenware Parisian Métro tiles, and the slick otherworldiness of Bakker's laquered furniture which make up his show; 'Creatures, studies for existence'.

Antoine Boudin takes a different approach with his works; '...And here, all Life is Beautiful', exploring his roots with indigenous materials such as agave wood and wine tannin pigmentation.

Cordoléani is also experimenting with natural resources in a contination of his ongoing project 'Materials for Thought' - utilising techniques and materials for lights, vases and boxes he discovered in Mexico which include Jipi (palm) and obsidian.
