Hot on the heels of his 'Rorrim' lighting series, Ross Lovegrove has created another ultra-futuristic pendant light called 'Andromeda'.

Designed for the same company; the Japan-based Yamagiwa, its hard polyurethane foam form is intended as 'an artificial structure for capturing artificial light'

With a part spaceship, part deep sea creature profile, light is emitted from LED clusters via mirror reflectors, embedded within the shape. This approach distributes pure light and shadow, and the light direction can be adjusted too; since the mirror reflectors are attached via magnets.
