A contemporary take on the iconic early 20th century library lamp, ‘Libby’ by Overend Studio is to hit London department store, Liberty next month.
The lamp made its debut in prototype form at Tent London last year, and is a great example of Overend Studio's penchant for graphically bold products with a strong sense of British-ness and nostalgia as well as a large dose of humour.
Designed by the studio's founding designer Alexander Harris (who also works for Terence Conran’s furniture and bespoke joinery company, Benchmark) the lamp uses low energy light bulbs and has a shade tilt adjustment lever for reading or desk-work.
Staying true to Overend's principles of using sustainably sourced materials wherever possible, 'Libby' has been produced using FSC certified European Oak, in addition to the powder-coated steel frame, and a sheet steel shade in a zingy ‘Granny Smith green.
