It's the season for outdoor living; whether it's a garden, a rooftop terrace or a public park - and we love these designs for outdoor furniture by David Derksen.
Fascinated with functionality and the beauty of construction, Design Academy Eindhoven graduate Derksen created this set of furniture inspired by gardening tools for his final project.
Just like tools, their construction invites you to use them in a variety of ways.
Stick the lamp into the ground and wind it up to light it, whilst the bench's back rest is also its carry handle - plus you can also whip the felf mat off it to sit on the grass if you feel like getting closer to nature.
Our favourite is perhaps the simplest; a bucket stool as a seat which you can use to store and transport an afternoon's reading material.
Or, conversely, that most necessary of summer tasks:
Keeping those beers cold.
