These lovely pieces will be headed to Paris next month for Maison et Objet as part of a new collection by Danish Crafts called CC14.

Curated by London-based designer Nina Tolstrup, her selected overarching theme is design's current buzzword; sustainability.

Discarded, anonymous cups and plates get a new life with new decoration, and scrapped window panes are melted down to become tiny, delicate glass vases. Many of the products in CC14 are made of recycled materials, are potentially recyclable, or have a sustainable and socially responsible basis.

The collection also features silver brooches made of old mocha spoons, wooden toys made of road barrier bars, a decorative jumping jack figure made of wooden produce crates from Aarstiderne, and a minimalist Christmas tree that can be re-used year after year.

The new Crafts Collection features some twenty seven products, which, in addition to their sustainable profile, are created with a craftsperson’s unique sense of design and aesthetics.

"Being environmentally sustainable is good business. Consumers want a clear conscience when they buy something, and they want to be sure that the product won’t destroy nature and the environment." says Tolstrup of her chosen theme.

"At the same time, the shops assume a social responsibility by carrying the products. In addition, in my curation process I have focused on the story that the product tells without compromising on the superior quality and design expertise that has always characterised the Crafts Collection products.”
