Amsterdam based design practice, Tjep, have recently collaborated with Museum Studio to create 'The Buurtbank'.
The piece is a rather clever little mobile recording studio which is going to be used to create and present a database of testimonies of obsolete tools from the past, by interviewing the original users.
The design echoes the agricultural past of a whole generation of witnesses and users of old tools, framing their stories and building a bridge between the contemporary and the historic.
It's intended to be used by local Museums around the Netherlands for interactive educational exhibitions, enlivening installations with a sense of mobility and spontaneity.
