ALUX TABLE LAMP BY CHRISTIAN VIVANCO

Young Mexican designer Christian Vivanco has just launched his latest project - a table light called 'Alux'.

The result of an intense collaboration with lighting firm Almerich, Alux was first introduced as a concept for Wallpaper* in their the 2009 Graduate Directory, and now after a year, Christian is finally presenting it to the market as a complete product, full of improvements.

The name is as playful as the design, taking its moniker from Mayan mythology; Alux being a goblin or a naughty elf that lives in the forest.

We think this neat little table/lamp hybrid is a great solution for small spaces; suitable for use as bedside table, an occasional table in a main living space, or a hallway piece that gives you a place to put your keys and also light the way in.

Alux is available from, and being produced by Almerich - and if you'd like to see it in person, you can, since it'll be making it's debut during Valencia Design Week which runs from September the 27th until October the 2nd.
