WEAVE BOOKSHELF BY CHICAKO IBARAKI

First launched at the Designersblock exhibition during this September's London Design Festival, we love this 'Weave' bookshelf by Japanese designer Chicako Ibaraki.

Strong black lines characterise this almost Mondrian-style storage system which can appparently hold up to 200 books - although we reckon this is dependent on your level of stacking skill.

In fact, you probably wouldn't want to stuff it full, since you'd likely lose sight of its gorgeously braided bars which are irregularly placed, meaning the forms and patterns change when viewed from different angles.

The bookshelf is also made of rubber painted stainless steel; a pretty clever choice since the rubber paint prevents books sliding off through the open frame.

Er. M.E. wishlist alert...
