A new project by Berlin designer Peter Scherer is this Aluminium Chair comprised of open loops and sleek curves.
His 8mm water-cut aluminum seating concept was constructed with the objective of folding a 2D cutout into a 3D shape.
Through tests to explore folding shapes in cardboard, Scherer's final aluminum chair emerged with an elegant, continuous form - making it hard to judge where the material starts and ends.
To accompany this design, Scherer also developed a table, a stool and a coatrack using a similar style of fluid construction.
We like these pieces very much; contemporary, no-frills, and applicable in every setting from the home to the office.
