Nendo have just recently designed this new packaging for Japanese cosmetic brand, 'Three'.
Three's (three) fundamental values: ‘natural, honest and creative’ mean that the brand sticks to all-natural ingredients whenever possible; allowing no genetically modified products, artificial scents or colours.
So in response, Nendo came up with a design concept that reflected these ideals.
"Our motif for integrating these three core values into the packaging was the image of blocks carved from natural stone." say Nendo of their starting point for the designs.
"Blocks of stone are a natural material shaped patiently by human hand; stacked together, they become architecture, freely formed by human creativity and the attributes of the materials."
The team used two different warm shades of grey to distinguish between the skin care and makeup lines, but pared away all other design elements to the bare minimum to bring out the appeal of the products themselves.
Simple, contemporary and full of small touches like stacking bottles, soft rounded edges and matt (and therefore easy to grip) rubber finishes all work together to make the products a delight to use.
In sum, another classy and subtle job from one of our favourite design teams.
