Here's the latest design from Christian Vivanco, inspired by several summers in the Mexican Caribbean.
"I've always felt a great curiosity about the seaweed and coral reefs, their ability to generate a variety of colours and intensities, and in the case of seaweeds, their constant movement under water, resembling a slow dance."
says Christian of his starting point.
"Algae is a suspension lamp inspired by all these memories, resembling an aquatic algae that is suspended in the air, constantly changing its shape, depending on the angle from where you look at it."
The design is made from two acrylic surfaces, (embracing a compact fluorescent tube and hiding the entire electronic system) which diffuses the intensity of the internal colour, and creates a cheerful atmosphere.
'Algae' is part of a collection of lamps developed for Valencia based company Almerich.
