This lightweight lamp by Léonard Kadid is one of the more refined designs we've seen for a while; and in fact, it's only half a lamp since you have to provide the base yourself.
And therin lies the beauty, because the incredibly slim bent plywood profile makes it flexible in application, appearance, and no base means no unecessary manufacturing since you can use a book to keep it upright.
Give it a sturdy contrasting base (War and Peace?) or perhaps something as minimal in spirit as the lamp itself like Phaidon's latest monograph on John Pawson.
