VOID STOOL AND ORBIT LIGHTS BY A+A COOREN

A+A Cooren has recently designed a couple of great limited edition interior pieces for 'Featherweight Marble' which opens at Parisian Gallery Ymer&Malta later this week.

Their 'Void' stool and 'Orbit' spotlight both utilise Carrara marble and have the appearance of small monoliths.

The Void stool (of which there will only be twenty produced) plays with the idea of nothingness:

"Like a black hole or white hole, material or anti-material..." say A+A Coooren, it's "...a comfortable little stool created from the smallest mass possible in a single block of marble."

Orbit spotlight is our pick of the two pieces, which comes in either black or white and a choice of three sizes.

Here, we think the beauty of marble really comes into its own since the design duo have created it so that you can position it in a number of ways and play with the light: oblique, or more vertical light enhanced by the transparency of the stone. These will also only be released in a limited edition of twenty pieces each.

'Featherweight Marble' which also features work by Cedric Ragot, Normal Studio and Benjamin Graindorge, opens at Ymer&Malta on the 15th of January and will remain on view until the 15th of March.
