This weekend sees the inauguration of one of 2011's first furniture fairs - IMM Cologne - and Arco will be in attendance with their new products from designers Bertjan Pot, Dick Spierenburg, Burkhard Vogtherr and Shay Alkalay. 

Among the new pieces is this lightweight Café Chair by Jonathan Prestwich (which has also been nominated for the ‘Interior Innovation Award 2011 from the German Design Council) made of wood with a woven 3D back support.

Prestwich says;

“The combination of these two materials gives the chair an overtly modern look, however the design also successfully incorporates the nostalgia of a crafted wooden frame. The woven polyester back is ecological and hygienic and provides an excellent level of comfort.”
