MORI LIGHT BY SHIGE HASEGAWA FOR WAKARI

Tokyo based designer Shige Hasegawa has recently developed this delicate lantern style lamp for Wakari which draws from the ancient craft of Japanese paper making.

Drawing from the 1300 year long tradition of paper making in Mino, Gifu Prefecture, Tokyo, the Mori light series echoes the effect of paper screen doors, enhanced with subtle patterns from nature.

In addition to the gentle diffusion of light and a versatile classic form, Hasegawa's lamp is also pretty ecologically friendly.

Produced by hand from sustainable sources, both the materials and processes involved are chemical free - with even the unused scraps of paper being carefully stored and recycled.
