First presented in Milan during the 2010 Salone del Mobile, the 'Wallpiercing' light from Flos has begun 2011 with a series of prestigious international awards.

Designed by Ron Gilad for the Italian lighting firm, it forms part of their 'Soft Architecture' collection and offers infinite possibilities in terms of graphic and lighting effects featuring intense colours which can be created using LED rings fixed to the wall.

Wallpiercing was unanimously voted as the winner of the Lighting category at 9th annual EDIDA (Elle Decoration International Design Awards 2010/2011) and also scooped the prize for 'Best Wall Lights' in the Best Domestic Design category as part of the Wallpaper* Design Awards 2011.

There may also be more to come, since Wallpiercing has additionally been nominated in the Product category in the Brit Insurance Designs of the Year 2011; an award promoted by the Design Museum in London.

The winner will be announced officially on the 15th of March during the presentation ceremony, and Wallpiercing will be on show at the London Design Museum in a special installation from 16th February to the 7th August 2011.
