Here's a preview of a few of the new furniture designs Italian furniture firm Airnova will be bringing to the 2011 edition of the Salone in Milan next month.
We love the lightness of the 'Lulu' rocking chair, designed by Ewa Bochen and Maciej Jelsky of Kosmos Project - a rocking chair with an airy metal frame and a leather seat - and the perfect accompaniment to an uber modern interior.
Another seating option they'll be showcasing is a rather special chaise longue created for Airnova by Edy and Paolo Ciani. Made of carbon fibre and upholstered in soft leather, it's a statement piece for sure, featuring sinuous lines and bold colourways.
Tablewise, there'll be the 'Carlomagno' table by Lino Codato which, like the chaise longue, oozes refined luxury. The exceptional transparency of the extra-light glass top, combined with the white-lacquered solid wood legs, is a bit of a show-stopper.
And finally, we like Gianni Astolfi and Sergio Mian's faceted 'Gem' table which describes a journey from Florida to Brazil.
In these countries, Ziricote; an exotic and precious timber, is widespread, and Gem has been manufactured using this material. It's a bit of a special edition in terms of the production method, since according to Airnova, every veneer is unique and unrepeatable, cloaking the table in exclusivity.
See these, and more in person, in Milan from the 12th of April.
