FLAT TABLE PEELED BY JO NAGASAKA

This bright fluorescent table was recently on show at Spazio Rossana Orlandi during the Salone 2011.

It's by Jo Nagasaka of Schemata architecture office and based on the traditional Japanese 'Hassoku dai' - meaning 'eight-legged table'.

Called 'Flat Table Peeled', Nagasaka used a bright pink and yellow epoxy resin to square off the uneven edges and surface of the cedar wood panels which make up the table top.

"We added a layer of coloured epoxy poured on a wooden surface which grain had been peeled out to create different depth and by doing so, vari[ied] intensity in colour." says Jo.
