'Paper' lamp.

STANDARD PRIMITIVES BY DAVE KEUNE

Here's one of the latest projects by Amsterdam based designer Dave Keune - a striking collection of furniture called 'Standard Primitives'.

According to Keune, these modular furniture-objects consist of:

"...different bright and pure interchangeable elements which allow for a plural and personal ‘could be’ as opposed to prescribing how things ‘should be’."

Chunky and sculptural, there are two lamps, a table and a storage chest, but each piece has its own clever design twist.

For instance, the table features metal ball legs which are actually wheels that enable it to pivot around the pyramid so the surface can be available to anyone in its environment, whilst the large lamp consists of three laminated paper cones that mean the lamp is of a large volume but relatively low cost in construction.

We like this; bold shapes and neat ideas.
