CONCEPT KITCHEN BY KILIAN SCHINDLER

German designer Kilian Schindler has designed this new 'Concept Kitchen' for accessories specialist Naber.

Schindler, who's based in Karlsruhe, Germany, designed his Concept Kitchen as a modular setup to offer a changeable skeleton which can be organised to suit individual needs, whilst the additional integrated objects enrich its minimalist lines.

The thing we love the most is that it's one of the few mobile kitchen systems we've seen - meaning if you move house, you can pack it up and re-assemble it all in a new space without a huge amount of fuss, in pretty much any configuration you might need.

Currently based on a few essential modules: a worktop and storage area, a worktop and oven with a cooking surface, and a dishwashing area which also contains a cupboard element, it's made from steel and features pre-drilled grid patterns for flexible arranging and re-adjusting.

Schindler's design has attracted quite a bit of attention already, having been nominated to represent first class German design performance in the 'Rat für Formgebungs’ travelling exhibition called 'Design Deutschland - functional, distinct, unobtrusive' which overall, included around 100 current design concepts from innovative German companies and designers.

As part of this, the Concept Kitchen has done the design fair rounds recently, having been exhibited in Milan, at the ICFF New York and is due to head to the BODW in Hong Kong in late November.

A great idea well executed, and if you like the look of this, we think you'll also like Kilian's designs for the garden...
