With the ICFF now over, the next design festival on the M.E. calendar is DMY Berlin 2011 which begins in around a week's time on June the 1st.

Here's a piece which will be on show in the German capital by Italian designer Antonio Aricò - 'Watering Kettle Cans' which he created for Garage Design.

The idea for the ceramic swan can came from Antonio Aricò’s desire to design a watering can that was not limited to the aesthetic and practical world of gardening.

"Why not insert the form into our indoor daily life by transforming it into a tea pot?" asked Aricò, continuing:

"After all, watering plants could be compared to pouring tea for friends."

We like this thinking and by reversing the concept and use of these two common objects, Aricò has instilled a little fantasy and magic into the mundane gesture of pouring a cuppa.
