Big handbags, you gotta love 'em, and although the craze for great big hulking totes out in the street is beginning to wane slightly, we still don't relish the idea of cramming all our stuff for the day into one tiny ladylike box-framed thing.
So when we spotted this luxuriously large hybrid at the DMY Berlin design festival last week by Anne Lorenz, it brought a smile to our faces.
'Home Traveller' is the rather playful combination of a handbag and a piece of furniture; a big leather handbag with legs, if you will.
Anne's portable storage unit can easily be carried from one place to another and be arranged in your living space like an accessory. And although it's as roomy as a chest, it's more flexible since it has no fixed place - and is essentially made for constant travelling through the home.
Home Traveller has also been selected for the 2011 touring exhibition 'Design Deutschland' curated by German Design Council (just like Kilian Schindler's Concept Kitchen) and will be all packed up to head off to Hong Kong next in late November for the BODW event.
