COHETES CANDLESTICKS BY MOISES HERNANDEZ

We're well into barbecue season now, and if you're planning an evening al fresco then here's something super summery for the table once the sun goes down.

Mexican designer Moises Hernandez has come up these cheerful ceramic candleholders which he's called 'Cohetes'; meaning 'fireworks' in Spanish.

The set of three brightly painted, handmade table pieces draw their shape and hue from handmade fireworks in Mexico.

Moises says:

"Fireworks in Mexico are a nice tradition especially in little towns; they represent an amazing and colourful light source demonstration. The white colour is a constant in Mexican fireworks and it is also a constant in candles; the candle-holders complement the candles giving them diversity of colours and shapes."
