Italian design studio Euga were at the recent DMY Berlin festival, showcasing not one, but four of their new designs for lamps.
'Guinea', 'Flint', 'Sogno' and 'Panama' all share a smooth, playful minimalism; and each is suitable for task or atmosphere lighting pretty much anywhere in the home.
M.E.'s favourite is the slender, petal-like 'Flint' standing lamp which the studio created for lighting firm Martinelli Luce, but Euga also presented the rather clever 'Sogno Elettronico' which is a modular system of fibreglass panels which become both the light source and the lampshade.
Euga designed a circuit of LED which they then printed on each panel, with the outside painted to make the system invisible when it's off.
Neat.
