New from London-based designers Sarah van Gameren and Tim Simpson (AKA Studio Glithero) are these Bench Mould Shelves.
The project is a continuation of the pair's exploration of running plaster cornices which sees them creating a set of eight poly-concrete, wall-mounted, black shelves.
Built up from layers of plaster in which a 2D profile cut is made through the material, the result is a storage system with crisp extrusions and lines.
By adopting a technique traditionally used to create decorative elements, Studio Glithero has adapted the technique to develop functional products with details that reveal the animation process and traces of the material transformation.
Each shelf is finished with a satin wax polish.
