Japanese designer Yukihiro Kaneuchi has recently released this elegant new piece of work called 'Sand'.
Taking inspiration from the game 'Bou-Toshi', Kaneuchi has created a series of delicate vases made of sand and resin.
The original game of Bou-Toshi is simple. First, players make a heap of sand and place a pole in the centre. Then each player takes turns removing sand and the one who causes the pole to fall, loses.
With its primitive element of creation and destruction, this game has been played for centuries, but here, the pole has been transformed into a glass tube and time has been stopped with resin.
The teetering shape appears to near collapse, bringing tension and a fragile frame for the flower placed within.
