GLUCK PENDANT LIGHTS BY NAOMI PAUL

London-based designer Naomi Paul will be launching these 'Glück' pendant lamps soon at Tent London during the capital's 2011 design festival.

Hand crocheted from seamless mercerized cotton cord, the lamps have a pleasingly retro vibe; a product of her love for vintage and her practice of using a range of recycled, upcycled, organic, industry waste and British luxury material in all her works.

Inspired by traditional craft techniques and the emotional attachment we all hold to materials, Naomi's exploration of the possibilities of knit and crochet for interior application both for the home, and in commercial settings seems to have been a successful one so far - and she's not alone.

Naomi is also one of the five founding members of the design collective, 'Bricolage' which launched at Tent back in 2009.

Bricolage share an aesthetic which favours a refined use of colour, an appreciation for traditional craft skills and the use of sustainable materials and processes - take a look at what they're planning for Tent 2011 here.
