We love this new series of 'Braa' lights from Asaf Weinbroom Studio; a series of jointed lamps handcrafted from maple and brass.

Asaf is a graduate of the Industrial Design department, at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design in Israel, and lighting is his specialism - focusing on unifying mechanism, joinery and new technologies while using wood as the main material for each new piece.

For this range Asaf has locked the brass tubes in tunnels milled in the wood. This combination between the materials enables a soft and smooth movement, without friction.

"I decided to leave these materials untreated, the brass was sand blasted only and will darken over time. The idea was to allow the time passing leave its mark." the designer says.

The series comprises two table lamps and a wall lamp, and whichever you pick, we suspect these classic, hand made beauties will last a long, long time.
