British designer Faye Toogood has just presented her third 'Assemblage' collection at the London Design Festival 2011 which took place last month.
Entitled 'Delicate Interference: Assemblage 3', the designs were launched in collaboration with Phillips de Pury & Company and explore, according to Toogood; "...nature's ability to attract and protect through iridescence."
What this translates into, is a small number of pieces comprising both furniture and some more abstract objects, which utilise iridescence as a natural optical force through new and re-contextualised works in bronze, aluminium, steel, glass and resin.
By using man-made materials to create a natural phenomenon, we think Toogood's dressing table, lighting, jewellery stand and armoured bench all have a touch of alchemy about them.
