It's November, and for many of of us, the season of chilly woodland walks complete with the feel-good factor of crunchy frosty-leaved paths and rosy cheeks.

And if we discovered a bench like this on a forest trail, we think we'd be expecting a gingerbread house to pop up around the corner.

The 'Holzbank' bench is a design by Thomas Schnur playfully crafted from untreated tree trunks; every one of them made by hand, and therefore each one is unique.

Inspired by the honesty and simplicity of the humble man-made bench, this is a version that in terms of appearance, shape and materials retains the fundamental qualities of the traditional wooden bench, but introduces a reminder of it's source material - the tree trunk.
