Engineer, designer and producer Ahmet Sismanoglu is currently in Cologne at the 2012 edition of the Designers Fair which has just begun today; showcasing these beautifully crafted stools.
Since 2003, Ahmet had primarily been working as an engineer for Mercedes-Benz passenger car interiors, but in 2008, he revisited the idea of producing his own furniture design projects.
Since launching his own brand, called 'Sisman' in 2010, Ahmet's 'SuperSputnik' stools have become the core of his studio - and we'd say it's a pretty strong foundation.
Crafted in Germany, the 'SuperSputnik' range combines beautifully treated solid wood seat tops with an intelligent - and beautifully contemporary looking - wire frame structure.
Although sleek and lightweight in appearance, Sismanoglu calculated a smart wire frame for the stool that offers a flexible seat top which bends and turns, but remains solid and sturdy vertically - even when loaded with up to 300 kilos.
