This is brilliant.
We highly recommend you watch this video demonstrating 'Listen to Your Hands'; a desk by Sanghyeok Lee which has just won second prize in the [D3] Contest during the IMM Cologne 2012.
The piece explores our relationship with inanimate objects, like furniture.
The drawers in Sanghyeok Lee’s desk are all connected on the inside by a single, empty space. Close a drawer too quickly and the sudden burst of air forces another drawer to pop out unexpectedly elsewhere.
“It’s a form of dialogue through one of the most sensitive of human senses; touch.” Lee says.
"The desk makes people conscious of what they are doing with their hands. A gentle push to the drawer keeps the others in place, communicating to us the need to act with intention, we need to listen with our hands."
