BOSCO II SOFA AND BENCH BY GALA WRIGHT FOR MARK

British design brand MARK are taking over Coexistence’s Islington showroom in London soon with an exhibition and a series of talks and events under the name, INPUT.

The exhibition, which is also being held in collaboration with Danish textiles company Kvadrat, is set to provide insight into how a new piece of furniture is designed and made, through four exhibits based on MARK’s products.

Among them is this new 'Bosco II' sofa and bench from British designer (and interestingly, Oxford physics graduate) Gala Wright, whose work ably demonstrates the skills of the craftsmen that make fine wooden furniture.

Films and photographs, plus a tower of materials, showing the many natural and man-made materials that go into a modern sofa, where these come from, how they are processed, and how sustainable they are, will all be on show.

Bosco isn't MARK's the only new piece which will be at the event; Tomoko Azumi’s 'Verso' chair will additionally be on display; shown through every step of the design process from the original briefing of the designer, through sketches and tiny scale models to the first production models; essentially all the thinking that goes into every detail.

Plus, 'Dylan Freeth’s Iso table will be there as an example of the collaborative nature of design – the web of conversations and connections woven through the development of each new product.

INPUT kicks off on March the 16th and runs until April the 2nd, and with it, a fascinating chance to see products and processes in action.
