Here's a look at a superb new prototype design by Florian Hauswirth for German furniture firm Stattmann Neuemobel.

Stattmann are a family firm, with over a hundred years of experience in crafting wooden furniture. Now under the steerage of Nicola and Oliver Stattmann – the fourth generation to work in the family business - this spring, they founded the label Stattmann Neue Moebel.

And we'd say Florian's Frame chair is a fantastic start; a comfortable seat with an unusual construction which makes it lightweight and easily transportable.

To create the chair's form, three profiles are interlocked so as to stabilize each other and in the process, produce a beautiful complex shape.
