London based designer and Central Saint Martins graduate Jeeyun Michaella Chung has created these portable teasticks that makes tea on the go a more convenient experience.
Instead of attempting to fish a teabag out of the cup with a flimsy plastic stirrer (and inevitably puncturing it), Chung's tea bags are trapped in a teastick so there is no need for a seperate stirrer.
And when you chuck it out, it's one simple manouvre to the bin, rather than balancing the teabag on the bendy stirrer and dropping it just before you get there.
The form of the design was inspired by Japanese 'Chasen' - loose leaf tea stirring equipment - bringing a feel of traditional procedure of making tea, thereby preserving the essence and value of tea history.
As a disposable one-off product, the choice of the material is water resistible paper which is strong enough to stand for a while after being wet.
Different coloured stripes are put on the teasticks to make it easy to distinguish the flavours and the bottom - where the teabags are trapped - has also been designed to be nice and flexible with enough holes and room for teabags to move around as you stir for faster and more effective infusion.
All this could be recycled/recyclable too, so no plastic, less messing, and a better cuppa.
