POLYRHYTHMS

Graphic print is officially the biggest news for Spring/Summer 2010, and we wanted to share this collection by Australian designer Tina Kalivas which mixes dynamic African print with geometric tailoring.

The result is a mouthwatering selection of pieces, that with their crisp, origami lines hit the trend wagon directly, but the inventive colour scheme and luxe pattern make these dresses ones that you'll keep forever.

A great deal of research went into creating the prints. Most of the fabrics for the collection were developed in Ghana; some using the traditional method of wax printing, whilst others utilise traditional African tie dye techniques. The intricate embroidery was also inspired by traditional Africa graphics and patterns.

A relative newcomer to the fashion scene; if this collection is anything to go by, then Kalivas is one to watch.
