PRINT AND CUT

She may just be beginning her career, but fashion and textile designer Joanna Vanderpuije already has quite an impressive CV, having worked for the likes of Alexander McQueen, Jonathan Saunders and Eley Kishimoto throughout her degrees gained from Central Saint Martins.

During her MA course she won an award for both her designs and prints for Diane von Furstenberg which led to her being invited by Diane to work in New York, creating prints for DVF before returning to London to present her final collection at the Central Saint Martins A/W 2008 show.

Joanna has just shown her current Spring/Summer 2010 at London Fashion Week; under ON/OFF Presents.

M.E likes her off-beat hand drawn screen prints, fused with an impeccable cut; blending innovative and cutting edge elements such as leather, with beautifully versatile shapes in sorbet yellows, creams and beiges. Our favourite piece? The short tailored pencil skirt with a shimmering silver sequin peplum which boldly mixed the classic with the fashion-forward.

Mark Vanderpuile down as one to watch for sure...
