Lightness has a lot of advantages, in the use of products and their impact on the environment. This has lead to research into structural systems, as found in nature and architecture, and the possibilities of designing lightweight furniture using such systems."

Young Dutch Designer Bram Geenen has a captivating portfolio of experimental designs that explore a wide variety of materials and their potential applications.

From emulating Gaudi's technique for determining the structure of churches to create an elegant stool, to lightweight, honeycomb forms which increase strength (whilst reducing density), via silk for tables and porcelain experiments, Geenen pushes the boundaries scientifically and aesthetically.
