Recently graduated from the School of Design and Crafts at Gothenburg University (HDK), young designer Fredrik Färg will be at the 2010 Stockholm Furniture Fair, (which starts tomorrow) exhibiting his 'Re: Cover' project.
This seating concept looks to classic menswear, such as suits and dinner jackets that never go out of style. This is 'lasting fashion' he says, refering, and in opposition to, today's trend-led clothing items which are often discarded before being worn out.
By restoring old chairs; removing the backrests and replacing them with a new textile dress/structure of mouldable polyester felt, he makes these new "slow fashion" furniture pieces.
We like this sculptural, re-use concept.
