GROWING UP CHAIR BY JENNA POSTMA

Young Dutch designer Jenna Postma graduated last July from the Art Academy of Groningen, and since then has begun working from a design studio she's set up in Friesland, in the North of Holland.

Her work is narrative, drawing designs from experiences, memories, her imagination and feelings; which is thus far resulting in some charming and playful products.

One of Jenna's latest is The Growing Up Chair - inspired by her sister.

"The idea of the chair started when my little sister and my mother were arguing about the mess in my sister's room. Her clothes were all over the floor and on her chair and couch." says Jenna.

"Almost everyone has a chair in their bedroom to put their clothes on, but the more clothes there are - the more useless it gets as a chair. The Growing Up Chair is the other way around, it needs the mess to create the seating and to be functional."

We like this idea; every messy bedroom should have one.
