Young designer and artist Yukihiro Kaneuchi has recently produced this ceramic cup, marked with a miniature coffee coloured landscape on the inside rim.

'Tiny landscape in the coffee cup' is the first piece from what Kaneuchi eventually intends to become a collection exploring memory, ageing and interaction.

"When a product is created, it is as though new born, with no memory or understanding of the world around it. These relationships are formed through user interaction over time, the product 'ages' and gains knowledge of its purpose in the world." says Kaneuchi of the concept behind the delicate design.

"The stain's image is a representation of the products feelings, memory as the product ages through use."
