This unusual storage unit is called ‘Bug Story’ and has just been presented at the recent 2011 Stockholm Furniture Fair by Jingfeng Fang.
The set of five secret boxes formed part of ‘The Collector’ - a show of works by graduate students from the HDK school of design and crafts.
The project is an exploration of the question 'What makes something look and feel exclusive?’ and in response, combines craft and design with distinctive storytelling.
"Getting the inspiration from a piece of wood eaten by worms at Naturhistoriska Museet in Gothenburg, I used a hand drill to make the trace of furniture eaten by bugs on the boxes.' says Fang.
"‘The trace evokes our memory of a past experience. It is at once interesting and humourous, yet at the same time encourages reflection and acceptance."
